Hamurana Country Estate is a spacious, welcoming manor house located in Rotorua in the North Island of New Zealand, offering luxury accommodation and a refreshing taste of rural life.

Having recently undergone a major refurbishment, its new interior design reflects the rich, warm colour palates found in the central North Island of New Zealand.

The manor's slate-tiled entrance and hallway introduce a magnificent staircase to the expansive first-floor drawing room with panoramic views over the countryside to Lake Rotorua. This opens onto a large viewing terrace, a popular spot for doing as little as possible. The panelled dining room is also located here serving excellent country-style food at times suiting the guest’s schedule, however for guests who would like to cook for themselves, there's a barbecue by the free-form pool and Hamurana's chef will happily supply the ingredients.

The 12 ensuite rooms are individually decorated and offer lake and rural views in comfortable surroundings. Guests can choose from the family, standard or superior rooms or for those looking for the ultimate in luxury, they can choose either the Taniwha Suite, a deluxe super king suite with separate lounge room and two person spa bath ensuite or the Pool Suite, a deluxe super king suite opening out onto the swimming pool area.

The estate is located just 15 minutes from popular thermal and tourist attractions, so is an ideal base for those wanting to explore the Bay of Plenty and experience Rotorua, the spiritual home of New Zealand's Maori culture and world renowned geothermal wonders.

Adventure: Guests are collected from Hamurana Country Estate and can choose from a 4WD Bush Safari, Sprint Cars, Monster Trucks or Novelty Steer Vehicles. Each activity is supervised by experienced, professional guides.

Lake: Step aboard one of Clearwater Charter’s luxury vessels and relax and enjoy a scenic cruise on picturesque Lake Tarawera. The lake lies at the foot of the majestic Mt Tarawera and its sparkling, clear waters fringed by native forest and sandy bays provide the perfect setting for a variety of activities. Experience the thrill of catching a trophy sized Rainbow Trout or skim across the water on the three seater jet ski. After that excitement, enjoy a relaxing swim in the natural thermal waters of Hot Water Beach while the crew prepares a sumptuous buffet meal.
