The Boatshed, located on Waiheke Island off the coast of the North Island of New Zealand, is a nautically inspired, boutique hotel offering luxury accommodation in a relaxed, island setting.
Designed and owned by well known Auckland designer, David Scott, the construction of The Boatshed was inspired by the early 1900 boatsheds that scatter the shores up and down New Zealand. A testament to attention to detail and looking after the customer's every whim, the Boatshed combines the nautical heritage of New Zealand with fine accommodation, excellent cuisine, and a relaxed elegance. Boatshed accommodation offers guests magnificent views over the bay from private balconies with lounging steamer chairs, and all ensuite rooms are sumptuously fitted and have open fire places. The three storey Lighthouse Suite stands pride of place, offering panoramic views from its own private top floor lounge, with full north and west opening sides. Guest can choose whether to enjoy a private seafood platter for two on the balcony al fresco style, or join the other house guests in the dining room for a memorable Mediterranean feast. Dinner is a special occasion and delicacies are sourced daily with a focus on fresh, organic produce. Gourmet picnic lunches can also be arranged for sojourns to the beach. The Boatshed is a thirty five minute ferry ride from Auckland and is located just a five minute transfer from the ferry terminal, or alternatively a 10 minute helicopter or light air craft transfer from the city or domestic airport. Experiences: At the Bach: Stay for two in one of The Boatshed suites for two nights, breakfast in bed followed by a therapeutic massage for both guests (one of the mornings), a half day exploring the island taking in 4 vineyard tours and tastings and an exquisite private four course dinner with pre dinner drinks. Helicopter transfer, is an option.
Boat Charter: Classic boat charters - charter the classic 1935 Lady Gay launch and cruise the waters of Waiheke island sampling the very best of Waiheke wines and ‘samplings' prepared by the Boatshed.
